From one child to the other

DS is home sick today. This is very odd for him. More odd because last Monday he stayed home sick from school with the same excuse. I went home at lunch, and today he actually looks sick.

Says he feels like he will throw up, but doesn't actually. Only burps. Gross.

He did eat a piece of toast, and some juice.

I'm trying not to be too worried. I think it is a combination of a lot more swimming, more intense homework/schoolwork, less sleep, growing.

To be safe, I scheduled an appt with our doctor for later this month. He needs a check up anyway.

Update: I talked to our Doctor, he wasn't overly worried, said there are lots of bugs going around. But to schedule him for a checkup when it is convenient. Oct25.

Then later in the day I got an email from his swim coach. A parent reported today that their child has Cryptosporidium! So I called the doctor back. The nurse said if I want, I could bring him in, but they would need to get a stool sample. Um, yeah, right. I talked it over with DS, and he wants to wait and see if he feels better, which he seems to be doing. Also the nurse said that a healthy 12 year old has no concerns if he would have crypto. Ugh.

It could be some strange little bug. I've seen that happen with my neighbor's kid.

Hopefully no pukies.

And I would also agree about the swimming.

Hmm, my DS came home sick today too. He threw up at school. :( Mostly seems to be a tummy thing.

Keep us posted, please.

*sends get well vibes to DF's DS*

Ick, what is crypto? No, nevermind. If you tell me then I will think I have it.

Ick on the crypto - I'll have to look that one up!
But at least it's not the amoeba that was found in a lake in our lovely state, that went up a kid's nose, and eventually ate up his brain? Really, it was in the news recently... (not to freak you out or anything... - it lives in fresh water..)

Amy, I heard about that. Scary!
