Tickling the Ivorys again!

You may not have noticed, as I posted it on the Black Friday thresd over there, but we bought a piano this weekend! A PartyLite friend of mine was selling hers, for a fair price. We paid professional movers to move it for us, and it was delivered on Friday! We left a short while later to go visit Don's dad up north, but from the time we got back on Saturday and all day yesterday, Marisa was playing away. It was so nice to hear it. The piano is a bit out of tune, and needs a few pad reshaped, but we will have that done shortly, and in the meantime, it works just fine. I even sat down and played a few Christmas Carols to try to get me in the holiday spirit.
It is a 1950 or 1957 Cable Nelson spinet.

These pics were taken at my friends house, not mine.

On an unrelated note, I baked some Christmas cookies this weekend, and got most of my Secret Santa gift ready. I'm so proud of myself! It's only November! Next thing I know I'll have my cards mailed before Dec 23!

Wonder if Marisa can play "Linus and Lucy" by Vince Guaraldi?

Congrats on the acquisition! I always wanted to play piano.

Beautiful piano. My dad's parents had one that was very similar for many, many years.

Wanna bake cookies for me?

Will you bake my cookies when you are done baking Momma's cookies? Please?<---you should do mine first though because I said please. Momma didn't say please.

Cyggie: She can play "When the Saints, come marching in". Over and Over and Over and Over. I tried to side track her with a Christmas song, but that didn't last.

Momma & Bravie: I'll bake your cookies if you drive my kids around to swim practice every.single.night. Oh, and basketball too.

Now I have to figure out how to package said cookies.

How nice. I have a piano that although I don't play very often, I love. I do keep it tuned and help my dd with her flute notes now and then. I really need to get back into playing it more often.

Mmmm...cookies...

We had a piano when I was a kid and I took lessons for a few years. I wish I could play now. Seems like so much work to learn!

Awesome! Our piano was from an old Elks Lodge, my former sitter was storing it, and they didn't want it! Paid $250 for it, and it's not the best thing in the world, but it's great to have. DH's mom teaches piano, we luckily get them for free. We are going thru the learning of Ukrainian Bell Carol.. over and over and over.

I had a piano when I was growing up and I have one now. I don't play too much anymore, but I like having it here.

I'm picturing James Stewart in It's A Wonderful Life yelling at his daughter to play something else.

(Um, not really.)
