update

Wow, it's been over a month since I've updated. That's good, right? No news and all that.

Really, things have leveled off. Don is acting a little more normal nowadays. He still comes round the house, but it isn't quite as creepy as it was, nor is it as stressful. We've had several talks about things, and he realizes he really screwed up. Especially with the kids. He is working to reestablish those relationships, which is good. As long as he stays 'normal'. But the kids, while they are following my lead, have definitely separated from him. They accept that he comes around, but they are hesitant to put any trust or reliability to him. That's fine too, because as we all know, he isn't trustworthy or reliable at times.

As a result of me having to be a full time parent (you know what I mean) the kids and I are doing lots of stuff together. They still have swim, and Marisa is in summer PE for her first high school credit. Devon is really doing well in swimming the past month or so. Twice his coach has approached me unsolicited and complemented Devon on how hard he is working. That is great!

Last weekend I took Marisa and a friend to a little town about 1 1/2 hours north of where we live, to see a free concert by Cody Simpson. Cute little 14 year old boy. Better than Justin Bieber (shudder). The girls had a great time at this Chickenfest, and it was enjoyable for me too.

On a not so nice note my sister is having some issues lately. First, she is having a hard time closing the door on her relationship with her boyfriend. This is the one who committed suicide 2+ years ago. The estate is finally settled, and she is the primary person for that, but she isn't dealing with it well. Then on top of that, last week she was walking the dogs and passed out in the middle of the street in her subdivision. Went for all sorts of tests to no avail. I just got a call from my dad that she just passed out again, this time at a patient's house. UGH. I really hate living 1400 miles away from them! So please keep Michelle in your thoughts and prayers.

Ok, back to work. It's month end, and I am overloaded as usual...

Co-inky-dinky; I came to read your blog on the day that you wrote something. I do hope that this thing with your sister will end up being a minor thing. Have a good summer with the kids!

Stress can wreak havoc. I'm sure your sis will be okay. And I know you will too.
I showed Carlos the news story about Don. He just rolled his eyes and said you're better off without him.

I'm glad you are finding some small pleasures in all this. I'm so happy you've put your family on a better path.

But I'm really sorry to hear about your sister. Undiagnosed medical problems are terrible.

As always, *hugs*
